Downers Grove Junior Woman's Club Announces D58 & D99 Grant Opportunity

The Downers Grove Junior Woman's Club (DGJWC) is pleased to announce the opening of its annual Teacher Grant Program for the 2024-2025 school year. The program aims to support educators in Downers Grove Districts 58 and 99 by providing funding for innovative educational tools, programs, and professional development opportunities.

Key Details:

  • Total Budget: $10,000

  • Maximum Grant Amount: $750 per recipient

  • Number of Recipients: At least 14

  • Application Period: September 24, 2024 - November 4, 2024

  • Grant Announcement: Week of December 16, 2024

Program Highlights:

The DGJWC Teacher Grant Program supports:

  1. Educational tools and aids that enhance lessons or programs, directly benefiting students

  2. Educator enrollment in courses, workshops, or programs that will positively impact their students

Previous grants have funded new reading program materials, social and emotional learning (SEL) aids such as wobble chairs, and multi-sensory learning tools.

Eligibility:

  • Full-time educators or professionals in Downers Grove Districts 58 and 99

  • U.S. Citizens or permanent legal residents of the United States

  • Note: Grant recipients from the 2023-2024 school year are ineligible for this cycle

The Teacher Grant Program has seen increasing interest and impact:

  • 2023-2024: 57 applications, 18 grants awarded

  • 2022-2023: 35 applications, 26 grants awarded

October 10, 2024:          Finalists Notified of Selection

October 22, 2024:          Finalists Required to Present Proposal at DGJWC General Meeting

October 22, 2024:          DGJWC Membership Votes

November 14, 2024:          Award presented at DGJWC General Meeting
