Downers Grover Junior Woman's Club Awards Six Local High School Seniors with 2021 DGJWC Scholarships
DOWNERS GROVE, ILLINOIS – The Downers Grove Junior Woman’s Club (DGJWC) is pleased to announce they awarded their 2021 DGJWC Scholarships to six local high schoolers.
The seniors selected really stood out based on their academic merits, leadership qualities, diverse extracurricular involvements, and – most importantly – volunteerism and commitment to service both within and beyond their community. All of these seniors’ philanthropic spirit aligns with what is at the core of the DGJWC’s mission: supporting others in need.
DGJWC’s Education Committee Co-Chair, Allison McNulty said, "It was wonderful to review all the 69 amazing applications submitted for the Senior Scholarships 2021. The applications showed how much the students have given to our community speaking of their volunteer efforts, creating organizations and clubs within their schools as well as what their plans to give back in the future are.” McNulty continued, “There were so many deserving applicants and we thank everyone for their time and thoughtful submissions. Congratulations to our 2021 recipients, we were so proud of your accomplishments and wish you all the best!"
Samantha Figueroa, President of the DGJWC, said, "On behalf of the Downers Grove Junior Woman's Club, we are so proud to support these outstanding high school seniors as they continue to pursue excellence and further their education. In a year that has been particularly challenging for all high school seniors, it is an absolute privilege to celebrate these talented and accomplished young adults in such a meaningful way. Our community is certainly lucky to have these hardworking, generous and service-oriented students as fellow citizens. Congratulations to all!"
Congratulations again to all these deserving seniors! We wish them the best in their future endeavors.
