Downers Grove Junior Woman's Club Announces Winners of Junior High Art Awards

DOWNERS GROVE, ILLINOIS — The Downers Grove Junior Woman's Club (DGWJC) is pleased to announce the five winners of their annual Junior High Art Awards. There was a total of 22 creative submissions from local Downers Grove junior high students. There were 1st and 2nd place winners for 7th and 8th grades, as well as one Best in Show winner. Each winner received an official DGJWC Junior High Art Award Winner certificate, as well as a cash prize.

Allison McNulty, co-chair of the Education Committee said, "The talent displayed in the submissions was outstanding!” McNulty continued, “It was such a joy to review the entries and it was evident how much thought and hard work was put into each submission. We are so excited to have the art displayed at Community Bank of Downers Grove during the month of March to offer some sunshine amid this snowy winter."

1st Place, 7th Grade: Audrey Graves (Herrick) - Significance of Flowers, Colored Pencil & Acrylic Paint

2nd Place, 7th Grace: Taylor Ciucci (O’Neill) - Eerie Night, Oil/Pencil/Paint

Best in Show: Sarah Phillips (St. Joseph) - The Hope for Spring, Oil Pastel

2nd Place, 8th Grade: Dilan Mehta (Avery Coonley) - A Million Feathers, Pencil

1st Place, 8th Grade: Eva Henrikson (Herrick) - Mysteries of my Dream World, Watercolor & Colored Pencil
